Olvera Street Photowalk

This was a fun photowalk. Sunday afternoon with cool weather and cool people. We had met at the park located across from Union Station. At that location, there was a small rally going on. Not exactly sure what it was about, but immigration was overheard by another member of my group.
After meet and greet, we headed off and did a clockwise tour of the area. The first stop was the historic Plaza Fire Station. This was actually a cool place to walk into and see all the history. The first floor they have an old engine, and then upstairs was some beds and other artifacts from ages ago.

After leaving here, we headed to the main attraction. There was some pretty cool things to buy here such as wrestling masks, candy, and a whole lot of shoes.
After leaving Olvera street we headed to Philippes for lunch. I suppose this is the Chinatown place to eat because of its location and generally good food. At this point, we were only about 90 minutes into the walk, so there was still plenty of day left. So the group had decided to head over and tour Chinatown with the goal of reaching Phoenix Bakery. But along the way we detoured into Empress Pavillion for a quick snack and then headed on over to Phoenix Bakery.
Below are some pics that were taken along the way:
You can see the photos from other members that participated at the Meetup site. You can also see the rest of my slideshow here:
